Louise

Louise is a young woman from Brazil who is currently in The Netherlands for her Masters in Public Policy. She is now an Intern at the Youth team in Oxfam Novib, where she is is taking one more step towards the fulfillment of her goal in life: working to promote the empowerment of children and youth, especially young women around the globe. She is an assiduous reader, a (very) amateur football player, watches more TV shows than she should and has daily dreams about spending vacations at home in a sunny beach in Rio.

1.What has been your biggest success until now?
My biggest achievement until now was being able to work and study in so many different countries in such a young age. I believe that this helped me to develop a lot more empathy and tolerance than I had before.

2.What is your best memory?
My best memories so far have been all the times I’ve met my family and friends after being away for a long period of time. Nothing is better than going home.

3.If you could do anything you’d want right now, what would it be?
I would travel the world to find interesting stories about people’s lives

4.As a kid, what did you want to be when you’d grow up?
As a kid, I wanted to be a singer because that was the only idea I had of what a succesfull woman was. However, between competing with Beyonce and fighting poverty, I choose the second one.
